ICEHOTEL and Björkliden Fjällby merge departments

Björkliden starts its summer season 18th June and the work to interest Swedes on vacation to visit Björkliden in combination with ICEHOTEL has already started.

- The goal is to offer travellers more attractive experiences in Kiruna. I have always believed in the ICEHOTEL-Björkliden combination and this is an idea that I’ve carried around for a while now. The economic downturn became a perfect opportunity to realize this idea, it makes us stronger and able to work for growth in the region, says Dan Björk Market and Sales Manager at ICEHOTEL.

Both parties want to create an awareness of how easy it is to travel to Swedish Lapland and of how close it is between the various tourist attractions. By making their products visible and easy to reach through more channels one hope to draw more visitors to the region – summer and winter.

ICEHOTEL and Björkliden are open to having other companies in Kiruna joining the cooperation in the future.

- Cooperation is important today, says Olle Isberg owner of Björkliden Fjällby. There are many small companies in Lapland and even the big ones are small. By cooperating we will reach further and be competitive on both existing and new markets. We will be more cost efficient and use each others competence.

During June ICEHOTEL takes a holistic approach to the communication of the both companies and hires yet another person to their Market Department. By merging with ICEHOTEL, Björkliden will gain more people with front-edge competence in PR, design and online marketing.
