About Lapland

Lapland constitutes just over one quarter of the country's land area and is therefore Sweden's largest landscape, also often referred to as Europe's last wilderness.

The region offers a wonderful variety of scenery's, from mountains with crystal clear lakes and birch forest to the ancient forest landscape with rushing rivers and marches filled with wild berries.

Our menu mimics the seasons. Our shelves are stocked with ingredients gathered from Nature's own pantry. Whitefish and whitefish roe, venison and reindeer, cloud berries and arctic raspberries.

Here you'll find Sweden's - perhaps Europe's - best fishing waters and hunting grounds. In the racing rivers and clear lakes we find trout, grayling and arctic char. Unspoiled nature, as well as an exciting and world-leading business region within tourism and space engineering.

Do not be discouraged by the fact that we have Sweden's longest winter with bitter cold and are covered in thick winter ice and meter deep snow.  Sure, the temperature may drop down to almost 40 degrees below zero but the average temperature is between 10 and 15. But on the other hand, the cold climate ensures a true winter experience.
